What the...?
We had this little visitor in our backyard on Saturday. I should say big visitor for a bug. It was about the size of a mouse. The kids and I saw it run across our patio, and the girls screamed so Jason of course had to catch it. It had huge pincher's on the bottom of it, and was really ugly looking. We had no idea what kinda bug it was so we took a picture to look it up online. It is a Jerusalem Beetle, also called a potato bug. It is not venomous, but it does pinch hard enough that you want to stay away from them. Jason took it out front and let it go down the street, but that sucker was fast and just kept trying to run back to our yard. He tried to redirect it 3 times, and even thought about throwing it in the neighbors yard. In the end he ended up killing it because our kids like to spend time outside and they refused to go outside knowing that thing was lurking around and could pinch them. Jason wanted me to add that he chopped it's head off, and it's hind end still kept walking.

The size of a MOUSE?! That's sick! Bugs should not be that big. Ever. I had a hard enough time with the giant cockroaches in our last apartment. And they were only 2-3 inches long. When you get into bugs this size you've got to break out the weapons! Can you imagine stepping on one?! Sick! Or should I say...crunch! Hopefully you won't be seeing any more of those!
