Mother's Day

I got something special this Mother's Day. A big head cold. Actually it has been a pretty good day so far. Sacrament meeting was nice. Instead of focusing on mother's, the speakers focused on celebrating women and womanhood. It was kind of refreshing. I didn't have to sit and try to keep my kids quiet and contained while speakers talked about how angelic and close to perfect their mothers and wives are, and then feel guilty because just this morning I was losing my patience trying to get the girls ready for church. They sang "Mother, I Love You" in sacrament meeting, and made beautiful gifts for me in their primary classes last week. Instead of the tradition flower or potted plant, the Young Men passed out cd's with some hymns on them to the women after sacrament meeting. At home Jason and the girls gave me some nice calligraphy supplies. I might have been frustrated this morning, but I sure do love my family.
Hannah made me this pot, and it came with a bag of potting soil and a beautiful pink geranium to plant in it together. The top says Touched By the Hand of An Angel. Way cute!! Hannah and I are looking forward to planting it. Unfortunately I don't have much of a green thumb, so hopefully this plant will last awhile

Heather made this beautiful framed primary song for me. Last week her teacher brought in a bouquet of flowers and a huge rubber mallet and they got to smash flowers on the paper. Man she came home and sure loved that activity. She was very proud of her gift to me, and we are going to find a special place to put it. By the way the song is Mother, I Love You.

Jason and Hannah picked out this calligraphy stuff. It's a pen set with some paper and a how to book. I have been wanting to learn calligraphy, and have only bought myself one cheap felt tip pen. It's always something I have been interested in. I would love to be able to write like this, and I can't wait to start learning.

What a fun Mother's Day! I got to listen to Jacob speak! : ) And sit with the kids by myself! It was so fun!! The brunch during Relief Society made up for it though! And all of the fun things they got and did for me helped too!
