Hannah started her Artesia School project Thursday the 20th. Artesia School was the first public school here. They will pretend they live in the "rough and tumble days" of the pioneers. Thursday and Friday of last week they organized their classroom into a one room school room look, and organized their pioneer families and names. Hannah's name while she is in Artesia School is 10 year old Annie Douglass. She has 5 brothers, two of which are her classmates.
They have been asked to dress like pioneers until June 3rd when they "graduate" from Artesia School. Grandma Genny and Aunt Becky made Hannah 2 dresses and 2 pinafores, and 1 long skirt, and 1 apron, and 3 hats. She is taking her lunch in a basket too. Hannah said everyone is having fun dressing up. The entire 3rd grade at the school is doing it. They are doing fun things, things just like you would do in a pioneer one room school house. I'll post more picture as I get them, my camera died Tuesday when they started dressing up.
