4th of July

I love Independence Day, it is one of my favorite holidays. I am very grateful to live in our country. For better or for worse I wouldn't change it. I am thankful for everyone who serves in our Armed Forces, and who make sacrifices for our country. I have been fortunate that my husband's military service has not required him to enter harms way, but we know many people who have spent dangerous months serving our country, and many families who have been left behind to worry. I am thankful for my brother-in-law Aaron who is deployed to the middle east, and for his service to our country. I am thankful for our constitution, and for our war of independence, and for the fortitude our forefathers displayed in sticking with making our country work. In case you haven't noticed I am a very patriotic person, I always have been.
Anyway, we had a fun 4th. We went to a bar-b-que with some friends, and had good company and good food. I took my half eaten birthday cake. Yeah it was kind of ghetto to take half a cake, but my family wasn't going to eat it all, and it was the first thing to disappear. Then we saw the local fireworks show. The girls loved it. We weren't able to do any of our own this year while we waited, like last year, but we all had a good time anyway. My kids loved watching the show. A little girl behind us yelled as loud as she could "Happy birthday America!!" Anyway that was our 4th. The evening of the 5th we took Hannah and her friend to Prince Caspian, and left the little kids with her mom. It was a fun weekend.
